Black Trim Cleaner ??

Is there anything that I can use on black trim (plastic I think), that will clean and shine up better than Klasse AIO?

The car looks great, but the trim all over the car still has some oxidation.

I have used Klasse AIO on the trim 4 times but I think I need something stronger?

It has to be something I can put on by hand, but I don't want a coverup like Armorall, Back to Black, etc.

I don't like those real shiny finishes that wear off in 4 days!

Any help would be appreciated and Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

The car is a 1991 Mustang Convertible.

Thanks

Larry

I'm not sure there's a product that will help a great deal. AIO has some pretty strong chemical cleaning action. Anything stronger might do more harm than good. If you want to take it up a notch, look at stuff like Meguiars Medallion Paint Cleaner (mostly chemical cleaner) or Mothers Pre Wax Cleaner (ditto).

If those products don't cut it you'll need some sort of dye to restore the look. Products like Forever Black or Hi Temp Trim & Molding Restorer would be the primary choices.

Your car is almost 13 yrs old and Father Time has taken his toll. Do what you can with them even if it means just a dressing.

Thanks Brett for the information. Where can I purchase Forever Black and Hi Temp Trim & Moulding Restorer?

In your opinion, which is the best?

Happy Thanksgiving

I've ordered mine from www.topoftheline.com

What I've found is Forever Black is more durable (months) but hard to get an even-looking coat applied. Hi Temp applies much nicer but only lasts a few weeks. So I guess its a toss up, based on my experience with both.

Happy Thanksgiving to you, too. Be careful on I-75 with all the holiday racers/shoppers ;)

bretfraz .. I had the same issue with Forever Black but I was using the tire product on my textured plastic lower valances .. I solved it by using a kitchen sponge. ( the yellow 2 x 3" ones with the green abrasive backing) I very slighty dampened the sponge then applied the product.. It went on very even and looked great. I assume the trim product is prolly the same as the tire product, maybe just watered down a bit. The tire product is rather thick.
