Black Celica GTS, By Hand!

Hey all, first Click 'n Brag!

The car was my buddy's black Celica GTS. It was by no mean neglected, but never received proper wash and dry techniques, nor has it ever seen polish. Process was Mother's yellow clay, Meg's ScratchX (BY HAND!), topped with NXT. For the polishing, I took one first pass with a terry applicator, followed by two passes with a foam applicator. It is by no means perfect, though we felt that it was a significant improvement, and we were both seriously running out of steam by the end of the project.

I'll let you guys be the judges, the pictures speak for themselves:

*NOTE: the above 6 shots were all taken PRIOR to the NXT. Goes to reiterate that 90% of the appearance is in the prep!

My buddy was pleased (please pardon the partial nudity, it was baking hot that day!):

Much thanks goes to Autopia for teaching me 90% of what I know! Still much more ahead of me, including learning how to use a rotary (the first step is being able to afford one ;D)!

nice job! if you haven't heard already, there's going to be a new re-formulated scratch-x that will be available soon, that can be used with the pc... :up

Damn, you're in better shape than me :). I used to do everything by hand, and I never got anywhere near those results. I think you'll find the rotary to be a pleasant improvement when you get one :).

Awesome job by hand....Sorta looks like one of Scotts old hand jobs..lol...real nice..

If I did a job like that..it would be a 911 job...me on ground holding my chest and the girlfriend calling 911...

again...be proud of your work..it is AWESOME...
