Bird turd vs. Klasse

So this morning I get into the car and see this monster glob near the driver's door. It's below freezing and the turd is frosted in like a frozen steak. I have no MF or even spray available, so I leave it and drive to work.

On the way home, I'm driving through rain on the highway for a dozen miles. I get back and look for the turd...GONE! :bounce

Best part is, that was only my first layer of SG. I'm in a middle of my pre-winter detail. The stuff works!

5 Layers of SG and acid rain spots cover the roof and there is a bug gut and bird crap mar on there too.

Acid Rain 1 Bugs 1 Bird Carp 1 Klasse w/ a layer of #26 0

Now I have to use DACP to try to take that stuff off after the winter. I love Klasse for the shine but protection? ehh...

Well, protection varies a lot, but I'd say if Klasse can't do it then it is unlikely anything else would either. Maybe Zaino? (Never tried it).

I think in my case the low temperature and lack of sun retarded the turd perhaps more than the Klasse.

Zaino does not completely guard against bird bombs, either. Never yet found anything that does. The best solution still seems to be: get them off immediately, then deal with the inevitable oily-looking stain that remains.

I have more than 20 coats of Klasse HG and I did get a mark from a bird bomb. I will say that after hitting it with some AIO and #9 it was gone but I was worried at first. On a seperate note the nose bra that is on my 350Z has a 5" retaining strap with a rubber coated hook at the top corner with fits on the inside to the fender well. On the way home one day it came loose and stated flapping against the fender. Needless to say I was going around 80 and couldn't stop right away. When I got off and fixed the hook I noticed sereral dinks in what appeared to be the clear coat only the fender. Once I got home I hit the area with some AIO followed by HG and the marks were completely gone. The HG acted like a second layer of tough clear coat.

Cheers

SG will only give you more time to get it off. After that you're at the mercy of you're paint. When I first started using SG I thought I had complete protection. Before I knew it I had etching (i.e from bird sh#t) that AIO wouldn't touch - only 3M RC made it less noticeable. There is no protection.

I parked in my driveway for no less than 20 minutes before bringing it inside when I noticed the deposite. I always keep my car covered when at work and in the garage at home.

Cheers
