Best way to remove extreme dirt from carpet

I decide to clean out the interior of my girlfriends Mercury Cougar yesterday. It was a hand down from her grandmother and was extremely dirty. I took the car to the gas station to use their high powered vacuums (since I live in an apartment and really don't have a shop vac). Well, to make a long story short, two vacuum sessions and $1.50 later...there was still dirt embedded in the carpet. It seemed like this dirt was so ground into the carpet, that the vacuum wouldn't even pick it up. Is there another instrument that I could use to remove this embedded dirt???

Here are some pictures of how dirty the interior was (WARNING: This is extremely graphic material!!!):

:shocked :scared

Roll the windows down a bit then blow the whole interior full with foaming cleaner (Demolition Man) and let it sit for a little (er, a year?!)... and you can try to finish it.

Man, BIG :bow!!! Post after pics!!!!!!!!!!

Honestly, try some aggressive industrial strength carpet cleaners/extractors. Did Granny live in that car? My dinner wanted to be free again...

I totally understand your feeling...I've seen welcome mats that were cleaner than this carpet. She definitely got a large piece of my mind after I tried to vacuum that car. I told her that this was the worst carpet that I have ever seen in a car. Thanx for the advice.

Try using a dry "stiff" brush to loose up some of the dirt, then vac. After that get a bucket of soapy water and start scrubbing then wet vac....and probably do that over again.

See you next week!!!!
