Applying Paste with a PC

I have a detail Sunday on a H2 in which he lets me use all of his products. I would like to take advantage of this but all he has is paste wax. Although I doubt it, would it be possible to use the paste with the pc?
 
I use either a plastic painters knife or pop the wax out of the container if it is plastic and not a metal tin. Then apply to the pad.
 
Or just take the pad off and rub it against the wax, then scrape off any excess. I apply my paste waxes by machine at least 95% of the time, probably more than that.
 
If the wax is an "old school" wide-mouth tin (such as Meg's #16), a 4" pad on the PC will fit into the tin perfectly. If the wax container is smaller, you'll have to resort to audicoupej's suggestion.

I use paste waxes on my H2 about half the time by PC. Take the pad off and spread it on the pad with a butter knife. If the paste is a moist one like P21S, it is very simple. It works great.

my oh my. The only paste wax I have is very old Omega tin, #16 and #476.

I was picturing what you guys were saying about the knife ordeal and Tom just put it all to rest ;-)

An old spoon, works really great to, just pull/push it backwards across the polish.

If you are using a smaller container of wax, like P21S, DP Max Wax, Natty's Blue, etc., just pop the wax block out of the container and rub it over your pad. Or, just make it so that the wax block drops when you turn it over and you can use it like you would a deodorant stick.



I've never needed to use any kind of knife.
 
The great thing about the above mentioned techniques with the PC is you will use LESS wax than using a standard applicator pad by hand. Plus it is also faster.

I applied #16 with a pc for the first time this past week. I used a rubber spatula to scrape some wax from the container and spread on the pad. It looked like the picture above and worked great.
 
Why not just take the tin of wax and rub the PC pad in it? It seems wasteful to carve out chunks of wax when all that is needed are a few swipes of the pad.

You don't carve out chunks of wax... you lightly scrape the knife across the surface, just to get a little bit of wax, and then spread that on the pad.
 
Maybe Collinite will come out with " 476 in a deodorant type tube!!! But knowing me I would get mixed up some morning, use the wrong thing, bead like hell but smell something awful for 3 to 4 months, LOL!
