Anyone (excluding Z users) use sealants only?

My truck is 3 weeks old and I have AIO + KSG x 4 so far. When my AJ arrives I plan to use it exclusively.

I may never actually use wax on my personal truck again.

When i was on a UPP kick, i only used it.

When i was trying DP's sealant, i only used that.

I topped EX, but never did with NXT.

I really didnt like to top my sealants because i liked to add another layer when i wanted to.

I switched to Zaino, so Z8 is perfect for this.

But if i were to use the JW line of products, his nuba QD would make a nice addition to his nuba topper.

Basicly what i am getting at, with the evolution of spray boosters that actually perform, i would have no problem topping a sealant now.

Although, i have a hard time seeing the difference between whats on a very well prepped paint.

If I decide to use a nuba topper it won't be JW's for awhile ... still have NB and OCW that I haven't even opened yet.

The big thing I like about carnauba's is that most of them hide minor marring/swirling. Over time with standard washing, you are bound to produce a bit of marring. Therefore, I will top with something like FK1 Pink Wax.

Yeah I know I'll probably end up topping KSG or AJ, but I like the idea of never having wax on my new truck ... never having a wax mark.

One of the reasons I use mostly carnaubas on my own black car.

On customer's cars, I mostly use what I think looks best, very rarely do I top sealants on their vehicles unless the vehicle is solid black or red.

Never having a "wax mark??" What are you talking about? The white residue splotches on trim and etc.?

That, IMO, isn't a valid reason not to use waxes. There are plenty of waxes available that don't stain trim pieces and etc., not to mention you can always mask off the areas you don't want getting covered. Even some sealants, polishes, etc. could stain trim; so caution is needed regardless what product you're using. ;)

I like layers and just cant stop after a sealant, at least on my personal cars. On all except one of my family's cars right now I have at least one layer of sealant and one layer of carnauba wax. Not sure why, but I must top it. :nixweiss

I only use sealants on the S8 and the MPV- they're "my" vehicles and I keep them basically marring-free all the time. On the others, my wife's car and the ones with old/thin/marred paint, I use carnaubas.

I don't top my sealants as I too like to keep adding more. If I can't keep a vehicle marring-free I don't use sealants on it. IMO it's not like sealants are mandatory for long-term paint care, but I can see why people would seal an imperfect finish and add carnauba, it's just not my approach.
