Stephan,
I haven't tried Madden 08 on the 360 so I'm leaving that alone. Ignorance is bliss for me there. I used to play mostly sport games but have ventured to the shooter world. Like I said I've only played like one game on madden so far. Rainbow 6 is taking up most of my time. Between that and some Halo 3 my gaming time is spent.
MS does nickle and dime you. From no HD players to no built in Wifi it gets old. But I'm sure there are many more gamers who don't need or want HD players or Wifi. I did that's one of the reasons I purchased the PS3 first.
One nice thing about the 360 is the entry price. Most of my buds from work don't have either systems. The PS3 is a difficult sell at even their current price point. Their more interested in the 360 now. There are a few that care about HD players so the PS3 is a value to them.
BlueZero,
Give them both a try. Don't be swayed by the minimal cost of Live. I thought it was ridiculous to pay for online, but the fit and finish of live is great. I've played Halo 3 a few times on Live. Zero kicks or lag so far. Plus the web interface with Live is great. For instance I just sent Stephan a friend invite via Xbox.com. For the PS3 I would have to do that through the system. Plus the info thats available to you from the web is nice also. Game stats for some games are tracked online. Bungie.net follows your online stats for Halo 3.
If you need more info or want to discuss the systems features/differences let me know. Sorry to hear about the back pay problems.
