Any PS3/360 gamers out there?

Mod Squad
This is going to be a big holiday season for both consoles. Call of Duty 4 will start things off next Tuesday.

I plan on purchasing COD 4 for the PS3 and assassins creed for 360. Might still get Haze for the PS3.

What's your holiday purchases gonna be?

Is it PC multi player? I'll look it up. I've heard a little about that game.

Love the sig. I tell my buds at work all sports are rigged cept pro wrasslin. I'll even throw out there the fact that Ken Shamrock couldn't hang in the WWF/WWE so he had to high tail it back to the UFC. Pisses'em off pretty good.

Yeah, it's "team base" with the added premise of class based players. Each player/class has his own + & -. It's pretty addictive. I was playing Team Fortress Classic back in the day on a 56K modem. Haha.

Yeah, Shamrock was in the WWF as well as some other ultimate fighter guy with a 1970 logger mustache. I don't remember his name, but I remember them both being pretty boring as far as wrestlers go.

On my PS3 I will probably get Drakes Fortune, and Gran Turismo

I will get assasins Creed on which ever system gets reviewed better.

On the PC I will get Crysis, The Witcher, Hellgate London, COD4 and GOW.

Xbox gamer tag is Mr Detailer

I play some Battlefield 2142 on my PC. Also have a PS2 and Atari 2600. I've been playing with the idea of getting a Xbox 360 this winter.

Thought there would be more gamers on DC.

If anyone is interested in some online multiplayer let me know. Our group's next big game will be Call of Duty 4 starting tomorrow.

Games I'm playing:

PS3
COD 4 (after tomorrow)
Rainbow 6 Vegas
Resistance
Madden 08 (only played one game so far this season)

360
Halo 3
Rainbow 6 Vegas

BZ
What's drawing you to the 360? I was a Sony fan boy forever, but the 360 has my head spinning. I really like that system. The 360's user interface is top notch and a major selling point of that system in my mind.

I have both the PS3 and the 360, as well as a gaming PC. The 360 right now is still a better machine then the PS3 (game wise). The PS3 itself is nicer as it has a blue ray player, and is ultra quiet. The 360's online 'Live' is just put together alot nicer and is very easy to use, although Microsoft does nickel and dime you any chance they can, PS3, is free in this category.

I play Madden on the 360, I had it on the PS3, but couldn't get used to the frame rate issues, its half of the 360. Try it on the 360 you will see the difference.

scrub... I've been a Sony fanboy for a long time too. I always used to buy Sony electronics whenever possible. Not so much anymore.

The 360 just looks like there are better and more options for games. Plus I think the PS3 is more expensive and a bit harder to find. The blue ray player would be cool but right now I just have a 27" tube TV so I don't think I'd need it. I didn't realize that the PS3 was free for online. I guess I could still be swayed towards a PS3. I'll have to go play them at best buy some day.

If I can get my boss to pay me all the back pay he owes me I'll celebrate and get a new TV too. He's was out $12,000 in back pay, now it's down to $4,000. But I haven't gotten any payments for about 6 months. I'm working on a resume and finding a different job. Then it looks like I'll be taking him to small claims court. Not fun! Sorry for the rant. It's been really bugging me lately with the end of the year coming up.

Stephan,

I haven't tried Madden 08 on the 360 so I'm leaving that alone. Ignorance is bliss for me there. I used to play mostly sport games but have ventured to the shooter world. Like I said I've only played like one game on madden so far. Rainbow 6 is taking up most of my time. Between that and some Halo 3 my gaming time is spent.

MS does nickle and dime you. From no HD players to no built in Wifi it gets old. But I'm sure there are many more gamers who don't need or want HD players or Wifi. I did that's one of the reasons I purchased the PS3 first.

One nice thing about the 360 is the entry price. Most of my buds from work don't have either systems. The PS3 is a difficult sell at even their current price point. Their more interested in the 360 now. There are a few that care about HD players so the PS3 is a value to them.

BlueZero,

Give them both a try. Don't be swayed by the minimal cost of Live. I thought it was ridiculous to pay for online, but the fit and finish of live is great. I've played Halo 3 a few times on Live. Zero kicks or lag so far. Plus the web interface with Live is great. For instance I just sent Stephan a friend invite via Xbox.com. For the PS3 I would have to do that through the system. Plus the info thats available to you from the web is nice also. Game stats for some games are tracked online. Bungie.net follows your online stats for Halo 3.

If you need more info or want to discuss the systems features/differences let me know. Sorry to hear about the back pay problems.

Thanks for the gamer invite, I should be on tonight...I play alot of FPS but mainly on the computer as I like the mouse/keyboard setup, although I am starting to get better at using the dual controls.

Live is a much nicer setup for online, easy to use menus and very user friendly, while the PS3 really could use some polishing (no pun intended). I have both systems so I can pick and choose, right now the 360 has a larger selection to choose from, but in the long run I think the PS3 maybe a better machine. What killed Microsoft was the Red ring of death.

I just picked up my PS3 last weekend and finally registered it for online play. My username isn't really too appropriate to list on the site because it has the possibility of offending some people. If you'd like to add me, just pm me for the name. Currently, I have Call of Duty 4 and Guitar Hero 3.

Online isn't exactly its strength, I don't play online, but there are a few games out there. Mario Kart Wii will definitely be online.
