I am wondering if anyone had any experience on Mazda's Velocity Red Mica. It is available on a few select models like the RX8 (which I will be doing). There seems to be a lot of flakes in this color and they shine an almost orange color in the light.

What is your process and which products do you use?

I *think* this is the color you are referring to: http://www.autopia.org/forum/pro-de...5-driven-auto-detail-2004-mazda-rx-8-red.html

I like the color a lot because of all the metallic flake it has in it. As far as polishing is concerned, my Mazda3 in Carbon Grey Mica as well as other newer Mazda's that I've worked on have cleaned up fairly easy. The RX8 did seem a little on the hard side, but nothing like Audi paint. The biggest knock on the paint is that it's thin and it chips very easily. If you are anyone else is going to be purchasing a new Mazda, I'd recommend getting a clear bra to save the paint from rock chips and road rash.

My dad has the same color MX-5 JohnKleven posted I think it's called Copper Red. Would M205 work good if the paint is in good condition? I have orange, white and red pads with my G110 (also M105 and UC.)

Yes, that is VRM. I purchased an RX8 in VRM and it will be delivered thursday. I want to know the best way to tackle it :) .

another qx4 - I have a 2005 RX-8 in VRM. When you get it wash and clay it first. If you need to polish it Men. PO85RD or 3M ultra fina is my choice. Then a glaze like Red moose glaze is optional. Wax I like Souveran. Good luck PM me if you need to ask me about more questions. My RX-8 looks as good as if it rolled off the showroom floor.

Here it is. There are some swirls and bird crap etchings, but other than that, it is absolutely mint.

I plan on washing it, clay, SSR 2.5 with LC yellow, #80 with LC white (I need to purchase SSR 1.0, but #80 will do for now), then EX-P. I have to work with what I got for now and it should turn out ok.

What do you use for interior leather and plastic treatment? I plan on using 303 on everything for now.

My speed6 is your color. What I have found though much testing is that certain products make tha flake pop .

1. Z5 & Z8 and/or ZCS

2. Swax for deep detail

3. CG WMF

4. DWG

5. OS

6.Ultima

7. RMG

For me these give the best flake pop

For me Carnuba for the most part mutes the flake and darkens the color.

I recently exerimented with CMW although the finish was wet as hell the metallic was muted and the red darkened. it all depends on what trype of look you want.

I love way my flakes pop especially with deep swax or WMF.

Zaino gives great pop with great durability
