AIO, SG, & thank god for Wipe + Shine

Hi, my first post here but I've spent many hours reading all the helpful comments from members of the autopia.

Cold and wet here in Georgia this morning, but about 3:00PM the sun came out and I decided to work on the new '03 black VR6 GTI.

Wash, Pinnacle clay (wow, I was surprised how little contaminants there were, but it is brand new with only 1100 miles now), dry (need two big blue towels despite what you guys say, next year we're getting towels for Xmas), and then on to the PC 7424 and Klasse.

I decided to skip the 3M swirl remover as it's a new car and I haven't even got a chance to catalogue the free dealer swirls. Besides it wll give me a chance to see how bad they really are and if the SG will really do anything for minor ones like my dealer included at no extra charge. They can wait to I get a little better working knowledge of the PC and nice long warm summer days.

Piece of cake to AIO the car with the PC, this Klasse stuff (my first experience with a "real" product) is the sh-t.

Wow it really looks great, now I can see the free swirls and scratches really well. Not too bad, but you can tell where the kid that washed it started and finished by the number of scratches.

Easy on and easy off, that's the AIO. Why would anyone use anything else. Well, of course then there's the SG.

Despite reading everthing on it on this forum, "am I actually putting anything on?" This stuff is amazing, you could do 100 cars five times with what's in the bottle. Needless to say, a b-tch to get off where I put too much. The micro fiber bonnett (the dark blue one) on the PC was the best for it using the machine, better than the green or white terrycloth ones by far. But of course it didn't take it all off. Two micro detail cloths, one misted with Eagle W+S, did very well. And dang, you know it either does look a little better, or I'm just dog tired, or both!

I have read that the 2cnd coat is easier, and the 3rd starts to get magical, well it's awfully good that they have plenty of the Eagle down at the local Advance, or Auto Zone, or where ever I picked that stuff up after reading that tip on here.

4 coats to go and I can put on the Pinnacle!

The SG that I didn't get off at first, certainly came off even easier 4 hours after it went on, than what I took off 2 1/2 hours after application. So I think the advice to leave it on overnight , or at least 4-6 hours is pretty good. Couldn't do it this time, as I'm at the store 13 hours tomorrow (the GTI is my daily driver), and I certainly couldn't wait, as the PC and associated pads, chemicals, clay and the like were an early Xmas gift from my girlfriend.

By the way, I picked up here a $800 necklace this morning while waiting for the sun to come out.

Many thanks for all the good advice here, I might just AIO the Z-71, after all it's pewter, and a 4WD truck. But I can't wait to get a nice mille miglia red on the 71 LS-6 ex-scca 'vette. And then there's the 93 Ducati 907IE, red, in need of new paint and a little fiberglass work after high siding at 75mph.
