303 Question

Hi,

As I have been using Armour All to clean the dash of my car and

now want to try 303 protectant, is there any thing that I should

do to clean off the Armour All residue before applying 303 Protectant ?

Thanks

Paul;

I have had success with a damp MF towel w/warm water. There are also vinyl cleaner products out there that should work like a gem. Good call on the 303!

It it were I, I'd be concerned about this. I would want to remove any ArmorAll residue before going with 303. (And, yes, 303 and IZ products are what I use.) I would recommend you use a good and safe cleaner; me, I'd use either Meguiar's APC+ (properly diluted for vinyl) or 1Z PlastikReniger, because I have them on hand. If you don't have those, or don't want to order anything online, there are some vinyl cleaners available at WalMart, AutoZone, etc.; before my Autopia addiction formed, I used a Blue Magic (or was it Blue Coral?) Vinyl Cleaner that was pretty decent.

I use Meguiars #39 with excellent results.

Lynn has the idea when it comes to APC+ if you can get your hands on it.

Also, you can try Simple green, properly dilluted. Just do NOT get it on clear plastic, leather or wood grain trim.

Armor All makes a cleaner that doesn't have any protectant in it. You can dillute it a bit if you want. Click here for a description

People on this board may knock Armor All, but in my opinion, I have found some uses for a couple of their products. If you are unable to get a dedicated vinyl cleaner like the others mentioned, then try this. You can get it anywhere.

Hi,

Thanks for the replies.

I forgot to mention that I'm in the UK

so am a little more limited to the stuff that

I can get hold of. It looks like armorall in the UK don't sell just the cleaner.

Any suggestions of a more international

flavour, then again anything available from

the Autopia shop would be good as I'll order some stuff from them once I've got

the right stuff sorted.
