2011 Civic Clear Bra Prep

BIOLINK

Icon Detailing
I did a new car detail on this Civic about a month ago, which included 3 applications of Polwerlock. Despite the solid protection from contaminants, the front end is taking abuse quickly from road debris. Now I am prepping it for a clear bra. I started by washing with ONR. I then clayed the hood, bumper, and front fenders. As most of the bug guts came off in the wash the clay was fairly clean when finished.

I then polished the surfaces to be covered with M205 using a PC and green polishing pad.

To remove the polishing oils I washed the surfaces to be covered with Dawn.

After rinsing and drying here she is all clean, polished, and sealant free (at least the front section). Oh, I almost forgot to mention that the paint needed some touch ups. There was some time spent with touch up paint and some wet sanding.

The chosen film is Avery Dennison Nano Fusion. Here are a few photos of Matt from Shades installing the film.

Here it is in the sun for final inspection and a bit of curing time.

I don’t have any really good after shots because the sun was going down, but the film looks great. I retreated a few areas with Powerlock and treated the film with Blackfire Wet Diamond Ivory Carnauba Paste Wax with acrylic polymers. (ya, the old stuff. I still have a few tubs to use)

My hat goes off to Matt. There are some screwy curves on the front and they are all covered with film. He did a great job.

Enjoy! Thanks for reading.

Don't forget the fog light/lower bumper openings/grilles :)

Put in right after pic. The film tucks into the openings so I waited for the final word from had the he was finished. :)
