I applied some 1 Z Glanz to my cousins car 2 months ago. It's a 1993 Subuaru Legacy (looks like a mini-station wagon), hadn't been waxed/detailed in years. We washed, clayed, SSR'd, and then did the 1-step 1 Z Glanz wax, wasn't going to apply multiple layers of EX-P or Klasse with extra costs and time.
Well, we want to give it the final winter detailing in the next few weeks. I don't think the 1Z will last through the NJ winter; it's 2 months already, can't see it making it through 6 months total.
I know if I re-apply 1 Z it takes off the earlier coat. But can I get away with directly applying coats of EX-P to the 1Z finish? Or do you I need to strip it first with Poorboys PP? I'm assuming he'll stay over and allow us to apply 2 coats of whatever we use over 24 hours or so (I think Steve/Poorboy said 24 hours between EX-P layers, right?)
I already clayed last time, not gonna do it this time. We really just want to get 1 or 2 coats of something on the car while doing all the little extras -- windows, rims -- we didn't have time for last time.
Any suggestions, thanks. This is an older car that is not garaged, so I'm not looking to use the most time- and product-consuming steps.
