1997 Civic (lx?) Dark Green

Doing stuff.
Did my friends Civic the other day. Washed, clayed, scratches were wetsanded off, Rotary with meg's burgandy + DACP on some tough spots. DACP'd the whole car with the PC, applied Autoglym's Super Resin Polish. Waxed with NXT Paste. In retrospect, I think I'll be using NXT less. After using #26 + S100 for awhile, NXT alone just seems so two dimensional. Maybe it just doesn't work with dark green, who knows. Also removed ugly gold pinstriping with old credit card, blowdryer, and tarminator, and then buffed it out with DACP. Autoglym Bumper Car on all trim. Plastx on the foggy headlamps.

Anyways, before... car hasn't been washed since he bought it two months ago.

Great job!

I see what you mean, though. The NXT doesn't really 'gleam' on that paint.

Now, VM/RMG with s100 on top would probably look killer!!:bigups

That's some nasty tint on the back window, too:D

The lack of depth might be attributed to the availability of the sun.

In the last picture I thought that I was going to be able to say, "you missed a spot", but, in actuality, it was the fence reflecting on the area that the pin stripes were. So there is some depth of reflection.

Good job on a tough vehicle to enhance. That back window is a tough one.

Thanks everybody. I have a good idea on how to remove tint (ammonia?) but I don't want to wreak the rear defrosters. That's why I left it alone. But yes, it looks horrible and really detracts from the rest of the car.

Get a large black heavy duty trash bag. Cut it so it fits over the entire rear window.....(inside)

Spray the window with a heavy amonia glass cleaner. Put the trash bag up to the window and stick it to it. It should stick there and hold by itself. Park the car in direct sunlight...rear facing the sun...for a few hours. This is called "sweating the tint". It should peel off easily afterwards....then wipe any remaining residue off and clean the window with cleaner again.

Hope this helps.... :2thumbs:
