    Poorboy's Trim Restorer

I used this for the first time today, and WOW! I was absolutely blown away. I've never used something that will make grey faded doorhandles/bumpers look BLACK that easy, that fast. If you've never tried it, do it! For those that have tried it, have you used anything that works as well...

    Meguiars Clay, mild or agressiv?

Anyone used both? How different are they? I'm wondering what would be best for general claying before polishing, not overspray removal or anything.... Should I stick with mild?

Lets see if anyone remembers this one....

Here is a 30' Boat I detailed, along with its little brother Mr. 24'. Process involved degreasing the hull, cutpolishing EVERYTHING, cleaning cabin/engine bay, and waxing it. First we'll start off with some pictures to give an idea of how dirty it was. The boat was bought from the states...

    Late-night details! Augh! Skyline content!

Late-night details suck! Worked on this one for about 5 hours of polishing... It was bad. Just imported from japan, I doubt its been waxed or polished in its life... 1989... Ended up using a 4" Orange pad on the PC @ speed 6 then 5... Twice. Then I used Optimum Poli-Seal with a...

    Perfecting Black....

Anyone else find that non-metallic black is next to impossible to get perfect? I tried almost everything I have, and achieved nearly perfect results... At the end of it using a 4" Orange pad with Optimum Compound got the swirl marks completely out, but I was left with TONS of micromarring...

    Cleaning dirty Vinyl seats?

I'm in the middle of a 30' Boat detail... First boat ever, and its a doozie. Working on the inside, I can't seem to get the seats to brighten up like they should. I can take most of the dirt off, but they still don't look good. I'm thinking of trying a Magic Eraser.... Tried Meguiars...

Sealing in a Glaze... What is the best?

I am a big advocate of removing swirls instead of covering them up... But if somebody wants me to come back every 3 months to detail their car, is there a wax or sealant that will "lock in" ClearKote RMG? I've never done it because I don't know how long it'll last... But that doesn't mean I...

Just thought I would post this up, not a ton of information out there :) I'm able to capture a fairly large account ( 15-30 door decal removals) plus a bunch of detailing, but the detailing I'm fine with... I did 16 Decal removals yesterday, took nearly 8 hours, and I couldn't even get...

    White Escalade...

I didn't get any before pictures, I forgot I had my camera with me! Nothing was too wrong with it, it was just dirty... Gets towed behind his 41' Motorhome, so it had pine needles and sand everywhere! Process: Wash wheelwells and running boards with SimpleGreen, as well as remove tar and...

Who offers undercarriage detailing and undercoating?

Just wondering, since the obvious $$$ possibilities of having a shop with a hoist. I don't see a problem getting cars from bodyshops and dealerships that want undercoating, and anyone of my regular detail customers would love to get their udnercarriage cleaned and protected. I see $6000+ per...

    Pricing adjustments for repeat customers...

I'm just wondering, is it customary to lower prices if the same person gets you to come back and do additional cars? A Scenario that comes to mind... Car #1 is an '02 Jeep Cherokee, Claybar, KlasseAIO, shampoo carpets, basic full detail. Car #2 is a '55 VW Bug ShowCar, waxed wheelwells...

    PC pads on a Rotary?

I've never found a rotary pad that I've felt comfortable with, but yesterday I tried sticking a 6" yellow LC pad on my 5" Rotary backingplate, and sure enough, it was the most comfortable thing I've ever used! However, using that and OHC, I had quite a bit of holograms, of which required OHC...

Total of 17 hours, still need to do the roof/lower panels, but it had to leave for a carshow, so I only had 2 nights to work on it! The paint was barely glossy from so much orangepeel: Begun sanding with 2000 grit, and it was taking forever: So I went down to 1200grit...
