    Using the PC on leather

Don’t use your cotton terry PC bonnets to polish your finish? Don’t know what to do with them? This is something I was thinking about and then it occurred to me I could incorporate using them with the PC in a leather cleaning and/or conditioning regimen. I think using the terry bonnets on a pad...

Zaino Z10 Leather in a Bottle Smells like Tannery

I just picked up this product last weekend at my pilgrimage to the Howell, NJ Zaino distributor and as soon as I opened it, the scent reminded me of a blast from the past : Tannery aerosol leather conditioner. Very first leather product I ever used and stuff my Dad used for years. Today I...

POR 15: Not Just Rust Products

Enter POR 15 into the endless mix of products for consideration. I was surprised to see they make some very interesting, non paint products. Claims are very bold but appear worthy of further investigation since the flagship Paint Over Rust product has attained approval in the automotive...

Best Car Wash(es) Available in Large Size

Judging by recent posts and reviews I'm assuming Meg NXT wash and EO Wet are among the best washes available in larger (1/2 gallon or gallon) sizes. (I'm focusing on larger sizes for sake of convenience of not having to order/ buy constantly) I assume to qualify as "best" the wash must have...

    '89 Vette Convertible-Lotso f Pics (No 56K)

Here is my Dad’s Torch Red ’89 ‘Vette convertible. Prior to the detail it suffered from cobweb scratches which made the paint seem not as bright as it should be. All in all, minus the interior, which I had detailed only a few weeks back, and the closer engine detailing, I...

    Decent Paint Thickness Gage?

I'm not in the market for one any time soon, but I was wondering if this is a decent paint thickness measuring device. If so, seems like Ebay could be a good source to find one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=1504&item=3835653054&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

    Carbrite litarature is very useful

I just got my free literature from http://www.carbrite.com today in the mail. Included is a spiral bound guide book with lots of pics that covers the detailing process, from washing to dressing to inspecting for defects. This literature would be great especially for someone new to detailing.

A possible Engine Kote replacement from 3m?

I stumbled across this product on the 3m store site and from the brief description, sounds like it could be an acrylic type product similar to Engine Kote. Anyone familar with it? http://www21.3m.com/dr/v2/ec_MAIN.Entry10?V1=362793&PN=1&SP=10023&xid=37991&CID=0&DSP=&CUR=840&PGRP=0&CACHE_ID=0

    Black AA sheepskin mitts

For the first time I saw black Armor All sheepskin mitts in a small car parts store. A search of AA's website doesn't list them so I don't know if they are discontinued, extremely new or what. I saw pics of black sheepskin online and it was interesting to see it in person. There were only 2...

    Cheaper platform?

I could really use a nice platform to stand on to detail my roof in better comfort. Griot's has the right idea but are there any other cheaper alternatives that are similar in size? I'd rather not get a plastic Rubbermaid step stool . http://www.griotsgarage.com/search.jsp?searchtext=platform

    Tool for wheel wells/ undercarriage

I've been eyeing this product for a while, I just picked it up for $4 at Walgreens. Has an 18" handle, seems perfect for cleaning or spreading dressings on wheel wells and undercarriages. I would be cautious if you use the abrasive side of the sponge. (scroll up to see the photo)...
