Friend of mine painted his wifes car. This wasn't one of those things where he totally messed up and now it's a mess and a big crisis. The car is in OK shape, and they don't really care how it looks, but it would be nice to have it look a little more normal.
They did the whole thing with...
Everyone knows volvos last forever. At least their drive train does. The paint is a little harder to take care of. Especially when it's not clear coated and was sprayed with linseed oil (sp) when someone was trying to spray their fence.
My buddy loves his car so much, I decided it was time...
Now we all know it's fun to detail vipers, and vette's and ferarris, but old regular cars need love too. They might look like this:
They might even have REALLY bad swirls like this:
(notice that that is like 1/2 the hood)
But that doesn't mean they can't shine...
Am I the only one having this problem? I did a search but all the NXT threads are just reviews.
This is the 2nd time I've used it (two different cars) and am just applying it with a foam applicator by hand. I've noticed that it really doesn't spread at all. You put some on the...
If your not sitting down you might want to find a chair. Here is my car yesterday morning:
That is the effect of going to a tough school (last semester at least) and not having any time to detail. Add on top of that all the crap they put on the roads this time of year...
One of the guys I detail for lives part time here Colorado, and the rest of the time up in Seattle. He has an 02 Lexus LX470 that could use some TLC. He asked me if I knew any good detailers in that area. While I don't, i'm sure I can find one here. Anyone happen to live up that way and...
Yesterday I detailed a Red F250 farm truck with over 80k miles on it. I was expecting it to be routine, but boy was I wrong. It had lots of light scratches on the surface like you would expect... So i removed them with the Rotary + DACP. What was left can be seen below.
We had a big detailing event this weekend and the local 1z distributor showed up. He was saying how strong this product was because it was the only thing that could easily get rid of that tough, sticky german brake dust. He was right...
He used it on an s2000 and it cleaned the wheels...
I just tried this on my hood.. it's fairly dirty and it worked great (no scratches from what i can tell)
However it seemed likt it requires quite a few sprays to do a whole car. I was probably using 2-3 more sprays per area than I would of normally QDing. I wanted to have good coverage over...
I'm in the middle of doing my first car with the rotary (don't worry it's my bro's fiance's beater) and i've already made some observations I think i'll put here for others to read.
First off the first thing I noticed was that the rotary has power... i haven't even gotten over 1000 rpms yet...
Besides the obvious... a buffer?
I used my rotary for the first time last night and this came to me... there's all kinds of info here on what the marks are and how to get rid of them.... but what is it exactly that causes them?
Is it a buffer going at too high speed? To fast over the...
When your using a tough abrasive and your buffer pad or applicator starts to match the color of the car, what do you do? It seems like having hte paint on the pad will reduce it's effectivness, is there a good way to clean them? how often should it be done? ie every pannel, 2x during the...
Guy came to me with a 94 3000 GT with 110k+ miles. It had very bad deep swirls, oxidized paint, a hood that looks like someone who had no clue what they were doing tried to wax it (was all stained and had dark blotchy spots), faded trim, and a just in general looked horrible. (this picture...
I have. My first expierence with 1z glanz yesterday caused a mess. All 1z products i've tried so far are reallly really thin liquids, which cause some interesting application problems. To get the pad saturated it seems to take quite a bit of product, than when it hits the car so much of it...
I got a few of these from David along with my last order. I tried them out with a few different products, and so far i'm just not blown away. They aren't horrible though.
I first tried using it with p21s. I really like the idea of the applicators, I always drop my other ones and end up...
