WHAT ARE GOOD TOWELS FOR DRYING AND BUFFING

Budget Plan1 is correct: Griot's Garage large PFM (Pure Frickin' Magic is what it stands for!) Twisted-Loop drying towels can be cumbersome to handle, based on experiences posted in this forum. SOOOOO, I bought four (Two 2-Packs) of the 16x 16"-size towels to mitigate this "problem" and have...

2022 Lexus RX 450h - CQUARTZ Finest Reserve Ceramic Coating - 🌴 A Miracle Detailing

OK, Merlin, a Captain Obvious question about the CQUARTZ Reserve Coating: Does this coating "cure" enough in the high-UV Florida summer sun that it does not require UV lamps? Just curious..... Your liking of CarPro's Darkside tire gel/shine is making me wonder why and what is unique and special...

    I have become a detailing heretic…

I can join the list of detailing heretics that this thread alludes to about using SiO2 sprays being as good as (or better) that past "traditional" sealants and waxes. I am still in the wax camp and having obtained and using an "unnamed-and no-longer-produced" concour's wax that produces a...

black matte/satin wheels stained white - etched?

You know ,makjur, the photo of the one on the right which, I assume, is the one you have tried to hand polish. While not "perfect", it is a lot better than the etched one on the left. Whether you can live with that like the one on the right is up to you. I would be more interested in in how it...

Sumthin’ cool for us old coots - Challenger TA

Yes, if Mopar-connoisseur detail512 was still posting, he would tell us about such care to this "oganisol". Thank you for the education. On a related subject, it seems Dr. Beasley is one of the few car-care product manufacturers who has a line products specifically designed for matte finishes...

    PANEL WIPES

I guess I can ask: How many of you WASH a vehicle after correcting and polishing it and do you follow up with a panel wipe anyway??

Sumthin’ cool for us old coots - Challenger TA

Somehow I can hear Archie and Edith Bunker sing "Those Were the Days" when I see this 70's Mopar. Unlike most of you, I am not a fan of the "green" interior, BUT with today's austere and limited interior color selection of black, grey, or tan, with an occasional white, it is kinda nice to...

    PANEL WIPES

Setec: Look at the Detail Supply Warehouse,Inc under wax for the "original formula" Moose Wax. It does NOT look like your stuff in your Clearkote bottle., but it does not say Vanilla either! And yes, thanks for the Prep-Sol to Prep All correction. I really think a good panel prep in necessary...

    PANEL WIPES

OK, Accumulator, I had to go to the 2010 Acronym Decoder thread to find out what "VM" stood for: The now-defunct Clearkote Vanilla Moose wax. The Detail Supply Warehouse has taken over the original formulas and production for some of the ClearKote products. As far as a panel wipe cleaner, I use...

    1961 Triumph TR3

Nice detailing, Sizzle Chest, on this custom Triumph! So how do you "polish" the aluminum brightwork? By hand OR using a mini-polisher with the proper pad(s)? AND what ever happened to that One-Step Metal Polish you were beta-testing? (Like the multitude of other detailing products you...

    2021 Lincoln Nautilus / DQUARTZ Nano-Diamond Coating - 🌴 A Miracle Detailing

I think one of the best chrome/metal polishes you have used is Scholl's Concepts Metal Polish. I do not see its availability at the "other" detailing store any more. They make excellent paint compounds and polishes, so their metal polish should be as well.

Changing of the guard at Optimum

Boy, oh, boy, when I saw this post I was taken back a bit, only to realize it's a continuation of a six year old thread, and not some "new" news about Optimum. But while I am here, is there anything new coming out from Optimum??

    2021 Lincoln Nautilus / DQUARTZ Nano-Diamond Coating - 🌴 A Miracle Detailing

Merlin, how do you polish the chrome (or stainless?) metal trim IE, what metal polish did/do you use and what microfiber media do you use for removal, if anything was done on this particular Lincoln??

Confessions of an Old Forum Member by Captain Obvious

The end?? I personally would miss not being able to converse with members of this detailing community via this forum because it is such a convenient and digital format to do so. Trying to converse with all of you via email would be cumbersome. Texting via groups ain't much better. I just like...

    2025 Porsche Spyder RS

Sorry to ask again Sizzle Chest, but which exact LC foam pads do you used on Porsches, IE, what foam type and color for correcting and polishing. I ask because LC makes so many different types/series and foam colors(density and softness) that I could get an idea from your extensive correcting...
