Anyone know how to restore a painted black matte finish? Matte has lost it`s matte due to "rubbing" or wear.
Thanks in advance.

Nothing but a respray is correct

Repaint as was said
maybe it just has a coating build up. perhaps try a thorough cleaning with something like CarPro Eraser Intense Oil & Polish Cleanser and only using a matte specific car wash - Chemical Guys Meticulous Matte Auto Wash , and detailers - Chemical Guys Meticulous Matte Detailer. any pics ?
Matte paint is unforgiving, any misfortune requires a respray
When you say it has lost it`s matte, do you mean areas appear shinier? The matting agent in paint creates a surface texture that disperses light. I have heard some of the paint`s can absorb light but I have not found any conclusive evidence of this.
As the matte finish wears smooth, it can increase in gloss, much like a steering wheel will become polished with enough miles.
There could also be a build up of waxes, oils and other product (that is easily captured in the texture of the matte and difficult to remove). Try a matte-safe wash with a few ounces of APC thrown in, then (as suggested) try drying it using CarPro Eraser, diluted IPA or similar "stripping" agent.
Hey Todd , what would be the apc s ratio for cleaning matt finishes please !
