I got around that 'issue' by doing wifey's Boxster with the products first.

She was suitably impressed, and all discussion on price ceased at that point!

Of course, I didn't mention that I was using her car as a test...

Do you wash the applicator after each use? Can you apply this with any other types of applicators?

Re: 3rd Ultima Detail - The Final Frontier!

How does the Paint Prep compare to Menzerna IP and FPII? Should I use Menzerna before the Paint Prep and then Paint Gaurd? I guess what I need to know is how powerful is the Paint Prep?

I don't wash the applicator after each use - it dries 'soft' - doesn't appear to have any residue or build-up

not tried anything else to apply the sealant yet - just the 'free' applicator that comes with the Ultima product.

Very mild abrasive - but very very good cleaner

the surface is squeaky clean after the Paint Prep - not like any product I've seen before.

I guess this provides the optimal surface for the sealant to bond with, so would be the last step before sealant application.

I did all of my remedial polishing first, then paint prep, then sealant.

Re: 3rd Ultima Detail - The Final Frontier!

A couple of points to note that I just thought of:

Wear old clothes - I now have a pair of jeans that have waterproof knees from me getting tire sealant on them! And it won't wash out now it's dried!!

If you spill the stuff on your driveway - wash off immediately with lots of water - otherwise it leaves a permanent mark!

Keep the blue caps on the sealants at all times when not in use - otherwise the spray mech self-seals up!

Make sure the spray bottle tops stay screwed on - they have a habit of slipping loose and then you can have a spill, stain your drive, and ruin your jeans!

All true!

The sealant is VERY powerful. I have been using the interior sealant to seal the fabric in my home and my nice ties. Once it's on, nothing gets in!

If you spill the sealants on your driveway, the best cleaner is lacquer thinner. Use it before it dries. After it dries... well, it's going to be there a while.

YES, keep your cap on the sprayer! This sealant is air activated. I will figure out how to make replacement sprayers available. Hell, I forgot and messed up one of mine, too!

I have kept mine capped and it's starting to stick.
