Market saturated in South Florida?

I currently reside in Key West, and business is good, small town-ish, good word of mouth business. I plan on relocating to Boca Raton, and I could move my business up there (mobile that would be great. But I'm sure there is 34504 detailers up that way. Thoughts/suggestions?

yes, get a demographic report of the "auto related" business in the zip code(s) you will service.

There are a lot of detailers in South Florida... not so many quality detailers. I'll probably be moving to Boca in August and I used to live in Jupiter, PM me if you have any questions.

thats what I figured, I guess its just a matter of getting your name/reputation out there. It is entirely too easy to get business down here, theres like 3-4 other detailers and I see them doing things like washing new cars with brushes, etc. somehow they stay busy.

It's a whole different ballgame in an area that is actually populated.......

I'm pretty much on the road driving from shop to shop for 10 hours a day I travel from south Broward up to north Palm Beach and I constantly see mobile detailers. I've yet come across 1 that I've seen use a rotary and most of the ones I see are glorified car washers that can also do hand waxes and spot clean interiors. Besides themightytimmah(& myself), I don't really know of anyone else that's capable of *detailing*. There's an obscene amount of money down here, I just think someone needs to market themself and go after it.

I looks like he's using the 2 bucket method by stacking each one on top of another! (an orange and white bucket). I need to start taking pictures and videos of guys buffing out cars in body shops. Very scary stuff!!

First thing I see wrong with this picture, besides alot of other things. Is if I seen this guy outside washing cars with a Mobile van with decals...I would never consider calling them. Look how unprofessional he is. I know it is hot in Florida but put on some fitting shorts and a polo. Doesn't need to be anything fancy...but detailing in a wife beater is just not professional.

One thing I must give him "props" for is his fashion taste...looks like he is a following the new trend of man capris

Yep, its the same way in my area. This market is so flooded right now. I went to an office building the other day for a new customer and there was 3, yes 3 other mobile mobile car washers, all with their armorall and dawn dish soap.

I would say if you plan on doing this for the rest of your days then sure go at it and seperate yourself from the crowd of wannabe washers. If you don't plan on being in this business for long than don't get into it. Leave it to the professionals that will be here 10 years from now and could use the business more than someone who will be gone in a year or two.

The market is flooded with a lot fo Scum Bags here in West Palm Beach.

I am not trying to sterotype people...but someone with gold teeth, playing LOUD music while they detail in a area such as Wellington right by a school is just not a good thing.

Plus, no license and no insurance, come on! Then don't get me started with these guys advertising $15 washes and $50 "Details" on F-150's!!!!!!

It makes me MAD I am not a complete expert but I take my time and build my reputation.

The market is never flooded here because so many people move in this area.

Being clean shaven, wearing a company polo shirt and tucked in!!! Not having a ton of jewerly on. I mean whatever happened to "Professionals"?

So many of them don't do a good job. Plus, I don't use a Rotarty on EVERYTHING, I just don't see the need to. Sure it looks a little better, but if you use GOOD products, you can never go wrong.
