My fathers friend Brigadier John Dix who lived in Kensington, SW London owned a 1929 4.5 Litre Bentley.

I was fourteen or maybe fifteen (‘54) when he brought the Bentley into Dads BMW dealership for a complete detail which I got to do (supervised of course) I remember trying to release the outside hand-brake, it was all I could do to release the hand-latch (couldn’t move the brake lever though)
