Dedication - v. washing cars in the snow

My buddy and I (bren wrx) had it with the weather and were sick and tired of our dirty vehicles, so even though the driveway was full of snow, we had to wash them.

On the WRX, Brendan pressure washed, followed by PB SS&S wash, and WW dried.

On the Liz's Pathfinder, I pressure washed, followed by PB SS&S wash, cleaned tires and wells with TOL's tire cleaner cut 50/50, wheels cleaned with Meguiar's Wheel Brightener cut 50/50, and WW dried.

Any other die-hards out there?

I just can't get myself out there despite wanting to get one more coat of wax on. Today is the warmest day of the week @ 38 degrees (no sun), but when you're currently tooling around in 10 year old Civic, the urge isn't there :o

If I still had my Jetta VR6, then I'd do it! :chuckle:

Cars look good guys :2thumbs:

I washed a couple this weekend. I am tired of winter already - - it's really a downer to see the cars so trashed.

:scared:

Joe: Great pic! No winter wheels?

Seth: Aww, come on! How many layers do you have on now?

Nah, it's rare that we get any snow to speak of here in Memphis. It *might* snow 3-5 times here over the winter. I just ride it out in my all-seaons. ;)

The paint is 10 years old and soft as butter. It mars even if you scowl at it!

I have Meguiar's Medallion Paint Cleaner + AIO (on trim too) + Collinite 476s x 2 + OCW x 2 on all paint and glass.

Its like 50 degrees here and its too cold for me. lol I just figure I have several layers of sealant, so its ok. Plus I dont drive my car much in the winter and drive a truck instead and trucks can be dirty. lol I do have to wash my car soon though.

Taken with my super high quality Nokia 6102 0 (as in ZERO).3 megapixel camera phone!

Last week, 20 when I started and you can see the ice still on the driveway from the freezing rain, sleet and snow a couple days before. At least I had a garage to work in!

Later that afternoon, 38 according to the info center in the pictured LS430 (AIO/AJ) and you can see the snow at the base of the fence.

Yeah, yeah, not as cold as you guys and admittedly, if I wasn't getting paid, I wouldn't have been washing cars that day. ;)

Sean, was that the same day that you washed/polished/waxed your teg?

All you northerners are nuts. It's in the fricking 40's here and I've got like 2 shirts, a hoodie, and two pairs of pants on and I'm still trying to stay inside as much as I can. What the heck, florida isnt supposed to be like this :furious:

Scott...I knew we'd convert you to digital photography at some point! :grinno:

Well, I guess if you count my camera phone. I'll probably bet a digital anyway, but also use the 35mm because I have the negatives (great to use for 8 x 10s for customers), prints for my photo album that I carry in my car, plus the picture CD. All that for $9.16 a roll.

Well, I washed and OCWed my car, the truck and my mom's car. Dont have any pics because I started in the dark and finished in the dark. lol ~40 degrees when I washed them

Got to try this vvv out and it makes washing quite a bit quicker, plus it was only $5 at Walmart

You people really are dedicated. I just noticed I had not washed my car since I last posted pictures of detailing it (back in early november). I really should get on that. :)

Washing is fun. Put on some heavy gloves and then some rubber washing gloves.

Waxing on the other hand, I've done at the lowest of -10oC. Not fun, mostly because the wax froze to little sections of the car.

Oh, BTW, I think this thread is famous, as its on a local Winnipeg car scene board. :)
