Behold! The power of AIO! (lots of pictures)

Behold! The power of AIO! (lots of pictures)

Published by Jngrbrdman
I saw this truck in the parking lot at work and I had to do it. I left a card under his windshield wiper and told him that I could make his truck red again. I'll let the pictures do the talking for me. Sorry if they are a little out of focus. I think my batteries were dying or something. They actually look more clear on the originals. They lost something when I uploaded them I guess.

Before:

After:

This one is my favorite before/after type picture. I really like this one.

This one is more of a half and half stage picture. The side that the bottle is on is done and the other side isn't. You can see the splatters on the drivers side. I thought it was cool that the truck was turning out to be the same color as the Klasse bottle. Ironic, eh?

Now, to anyone who says that AIO isn't an awesome product I say BAH! Other than the completed 'after' picture that is just AIO and nothing else. I did top it with UPP when it was all done. If I could only have one product to go on a detail job then I would take AIO. This stuff is unbelievable and I love it when I get jobs like this that prove it to me all over again. All hail to Klasse!

All that with no abrasives! Very impressive, Anthony.

Just for my reference, why didn't you use an abrasive? I am surprised that a vehicle which is that oxidized would have no swirls.

All the swirls were probably just in the oxidation. Seriously though, after I buffed out the AIO I considered going over it again with DACP but there really wasn't a need. It was a pretty clear surface without any marks. Its a pretty old truck and I expected a lot of damage but it was pretty clear.

I'll have to try that out next time on an older, oxidized vehicle. That would save a huge amount of time, not having to use DACP or something similar, prior to AIO.

Did you apply by hand, or with a PC?

That was with a PC. It could have been done by hand but it would have taken 4 times longer probably. I kept the PC set between 3 and 5 the whole time. Only on the roof and the hood did I ever go up to five. Most of the time it stayed around 4 actually. It only took 2 and a half hours to do the whole thing with AIO and then another hour to UPP and just finish it up on the outside. I'm just glad it was an exterior only job. I'm beat. lol

Sounds like the time savings was not as much as I thought then. Typically it would take me 1.5 hours to do a car with DACP and then 40 minutes to an hour to AIO. Since it's a truck, it would probably have been 2 hours to polish and then 1 hour to AIO, so the overall savings in time would have been 1/2 hour or so. But you're right about the fatigue though. Man, that would have torn my arm off to do that whole truck with AIO by hand!

The problem with AIO and oxidation is that it likes to stick to the oxidation. Buffing it off is at least going to take twice as long by hand on an oxidized surface than on a relatively clean one. The PC cuts it down ever further. The PC really saves some major time when it is oxidized that badly. That time included Pepsi breaks too.

awesome

thanks a lot man, now my interest in AIO/SG has really peaked. There's a local shop here that carries Klasse. If I get it it's all your fault!
btw, what year is the truck?
