i have heard from a couple people that this increases the gloss and wet look even more. anyone tryed this with good results? what would be the benefits of putting a 2nd coat of liquid instead of a 2nd coat of paste? or is this a money issue?

I'm would also like to know (have both) which looks best PS over LS or LS over PS or maybe neither of the two! I'm sure there must be some Autopian thats has given this a try and hopefully would chime in soon.

I 've done it plenty of times with great results.YOU put LS on then top with PS NOT the other way around. Always paste on top of liquid.

I just did Liquid Souveran last night, over Souveran Paste. I'l let you know in a day or so how it looks (gotta look at it in daylight, etc).

Trust me on this one; it's a waste of both products. LS over PS looks no different than LS alone, which is not as good as PS alone. PS over LS looks like PS, so why bother with the first coat of LS?

Quote: Professional Detailer's Tip: (This tip came to us from Jonathan, a professional show car detailer in Texas) To achieve the ultimate depth of color, the most spectacular wet-look shine, and maximize longevity of waxed surface - apply Liquid Souveran Wax over an application of Souveran Paste. Awesome results! Thanks Jonathan!

Only problem I see with this combo is the solvents in the liquid wax may remove some of the paste wax (but then it will sell two products as opposed to one, so perhaps this is just good marketing ?)

~Hope this helps~

Surpisingly, I've found LS to have very little cleaning ability........ a tiny, tiny bit, but not much. I've also found that alternating coats of LS, and PS paste looks very nice. Yes, it seems that when PS paste is on top, the paint has more "POP". However, after several alternating coats, it's pretty difficult to tell.

When I have time (rarely) I try to apply 2 coats of wax in this case LS then top with PS to seal in whatever spots I missed. It really does not do anything more to the car other than giving it a second coat.Just about the same shine.very easy to work with and such little effort and it takes such little time.

Yeah, but you don't spend the jing for PS to have "just about the same shine"; you spend the jing for that last little bit of POP that no other product has. It's like diluting champagne with beer, it's like "Kona Blend" coffee instead of 100% Kona Coffee. Do two THIN coats of PS instead.

Yeah. The point being that there's no reason to use the LS. It doesn't add anything. I may have misunderstood what you meant when you wrote "just about the same"; I read that as "almost as good".

I'll be up front about it, I'm not a big fan of LS. My belief is that there are dozens of products out there that look as good as or better than LS for less money. Over the last few years I've purchased LS several times, every time the formula has changed. It's an OK liquid wax. Stuf is better. #26 liquid is better. 4 Star UPP is better. NXT is better. MPPP is better. Those are just off the top of my head. I appreciate that opinions will differ from mine, but that is mine.

Speaking in reference to the direct question of the combo looking better than PS alone, it doesn't. It looks no different than PS alone, so why spend the $$ for the LS? You're not putting a beauty product over a protection product, you're putting it over a beauty product that's not as good, so why bother?

OTOH, if your experience is that I'm dead wrong and it works for you, stick to your conviction. I wouldn't want it any other way; do what makes the car look best to you. There's plenty of ways to arrive at the goal, and each car and each goal is different. Have fun!
