Lotus Elise and Ferrari Challange Stradale

Its nice when you can do two cars at once. The owner had just bought the Elise and it needed just a little work. The Ferrari was in amazing shape and need no paint correction, so Sunday morning was like a vacation.

General Process Lotus

Washed with Meg's Hyperwash
Clayed with Meg's Pro Blue Clay, using Meg's Last Touch
Window's Cleaned with Meg's NXT Window Cleaner
ZAIO on rims, plastics, windows, and trim. Also used on painted interior surfaces
Meg's Hotshine on tires
Meg's Hyperdressing in wheel wells

Paint Correction Lotus/LSP

ZPC @ 1000 with Meg's Polishing Pad
2x Zaino Z2pro
Zaino Clearseal
Zaino Z-8

I started early in the morning, and trying to get a good start I didn't take a lot of pictures of the Lotus until after I had already polished the car and dressed the tires, put ZAIO on the rims, glass, and plastics.

The rims where cleaned with soap, then recieved a coat of ZAIO that was worked in with a terry cloth. Then topped with a coat of Z2pro. The tires wear Meg's Hotshine.

The plastic trim got a coat of ZAIO also

The interior had some minor scuffs on the painted surfaces. They melted away with ZAIO, which was also topped with Z2pro.

General Process Ferrari

Washed with Zaino Z7
Window's Cleaned with Stoner's Invisible Glass
ZAIO on rims, plastics, windows, and trim. Also used on painted interior surfaces and engine components
Meg's Hotshine on tires
Meg's NXT All Metal Polysh on Exhaust Pipes

Paint Correction Ferrari/LSP

Zaino ZAIO via PC with Meg's Polishing pad
2x Zaino Z5pro
Zaino Z2pro
Zaino Clearseal
Zaino Z-8

After completing all the details on the Lotus and pulling it in the garage, it was time to wash the Ferrari. My brother was feeling better (he was sick all day) and was able to snap off a couple photos of the me washing it.

The interior of the Stradale featured beautiful hand laid carbon fiber. It was polished with Zaino AIO on the pc, then topped with Z2pro for a stunning gloss.

Re: Lotus Elise and Ferrari Challange Stradale

The engine was wiped down and the carbon fiber sides and airboxes where hand polished with ZAIO.

The rims where also polished with ZAIO then recieved a coat of Z2pro. No dressing was put in the wheel wells as if any dressing came in contact with carbon brakes, it could absorb into them.

Both cars where then pulled in the garage. The Ferrari recieved a coat of ZAIO via PC, then was topped with 2 coats of Z5pro and a final coat Z2pro. The Lotus recieved its second coat of Z2pro. Then a coat of Z-CS Clearseal and a final wipe of Z-8 Grand Finale completed the package.

The owner then pulled the cars outside to let me take some photos.

Re: Lotus Elise and Ferrari Challange Stradale

Sorry for the lack of direct sun shots on the Ferrari, it was flawless. Unforutnally, even with the lense closed and shutter speed fast, it would still wash out the photo's

Wink Re: Lotus Elise and Ferrari Challange Stradale

Wow Great work! What year is the Lotus? Also how did you like ZPC via Rotary? any haze, work time + -... On the Ferrari Engine what did you use on the crinkle red, it looks like wet paint! Also Z-AIO on the black plastic trim on the lotus?....Might need to try that!

Re: Lotus Elise and Ferrari Challange Stradale

Thanks for the kind words guys, they where two sweet cars, but the Stradale was pure sex. Its actually a pretty big car do, a lot of surface area.

Re: Lotus Elise and Ferrari Challange Stradale

Beautiful work on both cars!! Both of them are track hungry beasts! Future note for anyone washing/detailing Ferrari's.... DO NOT use any harsh wheel cleaners near the rotors if they have the Carbon/Ceramic brake upgrade. I was told this by a Ferrari tech. Just use regular car wash soap and water.
