Talking 1 Clean WS6....5 years later...

Hey all!!

I always post pics of the muscle cars I am fortunate enough to detail so it is about time I posted some of my own girl (yes she is a female and her name is Lola ). I have owned her 5 years almost to the day this month. My wife affectionately calls her "the other woman".

The car is a 2000 model Pontiac Trans Am WS6 that I purchased new off of the dealer lot on 11/29/99. She was built in October of 1999 and sports an ASC conversion number of 1,575 (ASC is the company that performed the WS6 modifications for GM). I drove this car everyday for 2 years before starting my own business in 2002. Since then she has been a garage queen and comes out for show duty and an occasional weekend blast now and again. She sports about 21,900 miles on the odometer and honestly looks better (and is a HELL of a lot faster) than the day I drove her home. If it is possible to become attached to sheet metal and plastic...well...this car is an of example of that for me. We've been through a lot in the past 5 years and she still makes me smile every time I stick the key in the ignition and fire her up. Below are pics of her and some description of the mods you can see (I can't list all the mods here because she has just waaaaay too many). Unless you are an f-bod person you may not grasp some of the mods but as an Autopian I hope you can grasp just how many hours I have put in on the paint over the years! She is by no means the fastest 4th gen out there...but I'll be damned if she isn't one of the cleanest!!

Current combo:

Wash with Meg's NXT shampoo

Clay with Mother's clay bar using Meg's #34 as a lube

Polish with Meg's #80 using a Meg's 8006 pad and my PC set at 5.

Polish with Poorboy's PwC using a Meg's 8006 pad and my PC set at 5.

Seal with Poorboys EX-P x3 by hand with a foam applicator. In each application the EX-P set on the paint for 60 minutes before removal and there was at least 24 hours time between each coat.

Enjoy,
Mike

Looks great.

Sealants are perfect on light colors like Silver. Gives it a real "glow"!

Very nice!

EX-P is a great LSP on silver. Gives it a real wet, reflective appearance.

Mike,

That is one SWEET WS6!

Dripping wet silver - I just love well detailed silver! I too have had great success with EX-P on both our Titanium Silver Bimmers.

Again, that is one SWEET ride Mike!

Cheers,

Wow!!!

Looks amazing...Literally looks like your paint booth was in the garage and you just drove it out.

I like the mods too...Very subtle, but still catch your eye...

406 rwhp ...must go like STINK
