My Civic - From begining to end....Updated on 12/2/07

Well I thought I would do something a little different. I'm going to post pics of my car as it sits now (not detailed). I'm wanting to show the progress off the car over the winter so I will try to update it when I work on it.

I'm hoping it might help some people (as I will try to add problems and solutions I encounter through learning how to detail). And maybe some of you all will just like to see the progress. Without further adieu (spelling?)...

First the pics of the car (I have since added a few things but these are the most recent)...

I was playing with the camera settings on this photo, thats the reason for the weird hue

Picture before I re-tinted the windows...

Paint....

I was about to say. You can't post a turbo civic and not list its specs.

Maybe we can meet up and have the ej8 vs ej1.

AIM = stiffdogg06 if you ever want to chat about cars or detailing.

Since you parenthetically mentioned spelling of adieu, it's my civic responsibility to tell you that 'adieu' means goodbye. As far as 'ado', let's see what dict.org says:

Re: My Civic - From begining to end....

I will try to get some pics of the motor soon. The engine bay is so messy I'm almost embarrassed to post them. Maybe I'll clean it up tomorrow and snap some pics.

Alright here is the list of stuff on the car, I am sure I'm going to miss some things so...

Also the car has been designed by myself centered around autocross/roadracing. I went with a turbo that would give me good response and not so much top hp. The car is putting down around 250hp (compared to 111 stock). Looking to get around 350-375 with the built motor.

Engine:

D16Y8 stock bottom end (running 2 years now)
Comp stage 2 cam
Golden Eagle Adjustable Cam Gear
GT28RS Turbo
Lovefab custom turbo manifold
Lovefab custom 3" downpipe (running open downpipe)
Autolab dumptube
Fast-Turbo Oil Feed and Return Lines
DSM 450cc injectors
Blitz BOV
Johnny Racecar front mount intercooler
Hondata Intake Manifold Gasket
Walbro 255hp fuel pump
Blitz Turbo Timer
Apexi AVCR Boost Controller
P28 with Crome for fuel management, tuned by myself

Suspension and Brakes and Wheels:

Koni Yellow Shocks
Ground Control Coilovers with custom spring rate eibach springs
NRG Engine Shock/Damper
ASR Rear Subframe Brace
Civic Type R Rear Sway bar (not currently installed)
OMNI Lower Control Arms
Civic Si Rear disk brake conversion
SSR Comp 15" Wheels
Neuspeed front strut bar brace
No name rear strut bar brace

Other Stuff:

Alpine Headunit
Pioneer Speakers
Sparco Racing Steering Wheel
Civic Type R Shift Knob and Shift Boot
CTR Replica Front Lip
Custom black headlights done by myself
Custom front grille done by myself
99-00 Rear Tail Lights
Tinted windows all the way around, 15 on all windows, 35 on front winshield
I have a set of 13" Gold Lenso Wheels with Slicks
Set of SI wheels with autocross/road race slicks on
Extra d16y8 block that I will be building soon
CP pistons to install on block
Eagle Rods to install on block
JAZ Catch Can to be installed
Custom Water Cooler Adapter to be installed (designed by myself and friend)
JDM Smoked Turn Signal lights (mounted on side fenders, you can see them in the 3rd pic)
Getting CF Hood for X-mas
Spoon Reservoir Socks
OEM sider skirts painted to match car
Front bumper plugs (go in front license plate holes for a smoother look, not pictured)

All parts where installed on the car by myself.

I think that is most of it...

Re: My Civic - From begining to end....

reading your suspension setup reminds me of my friends EL. His username is Fresh'86 or something on H-T. You've got a great car there man!

So are you planning to tear apart the car and detail the heck out of it?

Re: My Civic - From begining to end....

Yeah I want to get the thing looking better than it did when I bought it. Its going to take alot of work, and alot of questions and researching but I'm hoping you all can help me out

I'm running 9.5 PSI

RedlineIRL: Yeah I love the garage. It was a 2 car garage and my parents had it extended to a four car. Being that I have my two cars and my dad is into motorcycles we need alot of room haha. Also are you an IRL fan? I'm just assuming since your name says RedlineIRL haha. I'm a big Andretti Green Racing fan.

Thank you all for the kind comments. Car is not on any level as most of your's especially in the detailed dept.

Yeah the car can corner pretty well. Before I got into my core college classes I autocrossed reguarly (2.5 seasons). I got quite a collection in my short racing career. I plan on racing again when I get some time away from school.

Some detailing news: I guess this the official start of the detailing of the car....

I ordered some detailing products today:

Sonus Der Wunder Wash Kit
1" Round Natural Detail Brush
Sonuse Buffing Towel
Sonus Ult. Detailing Towel
Sonus Glass and Chrome Polish
Sonus Micro. Fib. Applicator Pads
Plexus Plastic Polish

I ordered a PC a few days ago from a guy on this board in the FS section.

Im also going to pick up some Prima Epic and Prima Amigo soon from a guy on this board. I'm still deciding on what sealant I want to use. I was thinking of ordering the collinite and maybe some Opti-Seal as a few of you told me its good. I also might get some p21s wax and see how I like that. I figured I can get a few different products and see what happens.

I plan on getting the menzerna products as well. Im not sure if I want to go ahead and try the amigo polish or just wait, save and get the menzerna. So many decisions!!!
