I had the pleasure of working on this 08 Aston Martin with 4800 miles on it. As you can see the passenger door was repainted after someone backed into it and the paint does not match at all Doh! Anyway I was supposed to have this car for 2 days while the owner was out of town on a business trip and halfway into the detail I got a call that the owner was back in town and needed the car by the end of the day. Argh! Well that threw a crimp into my plan and I was only able to achieve about 90-95% correction overall which I was not very happy about but that’s the way the ball bounces sometimes. Ok, on with my process: washed with my Foam gun and two 5 gal buckets using DP Xtreme Foam Formula followed by PinnacleUltra Poly clay with Adams detail spray as lube. After taping off all the trim and covering the convertible top I began polishing with my FlexXC3401 and Menzerna SIP on a Score 6.5” yellow cutting pad. I would have preferred to step up to Menz Power Gloss Compound as this clear was pretty hard but I did not have the time to follow that up with a finishing polish so SIP it was, which finished down LSP ready. After an IPA wipe down I applied one coat of DWG and topped it with WolfgangDeep Gloss Paint sealant. I wanted to try UltimaPGP with the DWG but it was dark out and it’s just too hard to see where the UPGP was applied in good lighting let alone poor lighting. Wheels wells were cleaned with APC and a long handle wheel brush and then treated with Griots Undercarriage spray. Tires were treated with Ultima Tire and Trim Guard Plus and the wheels were washed and topped with DP wheel glaze. The engine was pretty clean so it was simply wiped down with Adams detail spray and then followed with Ultima Tire and trim guard plus on the hoses and rubber parts. The interior was vacuumed and treated with Ultima Interior shampoo gel and sealed with Ultima Interior Guard Plus. Ok on with the pics:
That sucks that the car got backed into. I dont think I'd accept a car like that back with paint that doesn't match. Great work though. You really got it looking nice, especially with limited time.

If i owned that car and someone hit it i would be pissed then if the shop that took care of it did that i would be livid and they would be paying aston martin to fix it.
I know that door is horrible! I noticed it right away too. The owner said the dealership recommended the paint shop that he took it to. I told him he would be crazy not to take it back and have them redo it.
Awesome Job on a beautiful car!! The difference in the re-sprayed door and the rest of the car is inexcusable!! I wonder where he took the car??
I like your TL also, good cars.
Thanks Slick, I put a RonJon bodykit on it and of course new wheels, 19" GFG 3 piece trento 5's. I love the TL. Way better than my previous BMW 328i IMHO
Nice work and a beautiful car. I hate it when people want to pick up early. I never finish a day early.
Hope the owner gets the door done correctly.
Is that a flat black or metallic? No excuse for such a bad match.
